I see a lot about blogging

but, I also have been seeing a lot of different opinios on the Net about Word Press and Google Blog. Mostly about them Not being good for Marketers. I know I had a Word Press for a while last year about Cooking and Reciepes and I never once got any replies or comments.

What is y'all's Opinion? Good or Not or has anyone found any that wre better?

I attended a teleseminar tonight done by Sandi Krakowski and from personal experience she shared with us that because WordPress.com is a free site you are in danger of losing all of your data, lists and posts. If you say something, so to speak "politically incorrect", or you are promoting something they don't want you to, they will shut it down, non-negotiable. Sandi recommended having your own domain that you personally host with Wordpress as part of the hosting package. She recommended Go Daddy as she has used them for many years with much success.

In a future "lesson" here on Enerjized Life in the One Enerjized Blog and You, we will discuss some of these tips, secrets and tools to use to utilize your blog and maximize it's benefits for you.

If it's FREE the preciption of value is very negative and that's why. Nobody and get any real help for nothing, it's all about Greed and Ego. I even had a Blog on Google about all the bad guys I have run across in the past year and it had no hits. I can't imagine why that wouldn't have had some interest. I did read a good E book last nite, although it was somewhat selfserving, the ideas it had in it were excellant. It's what we should all be doing. I've read the e-book "Success in Ten Steps", has good points...to a point. Each person must make up their own minds, by reading the book, choosing to participate in the deciphering program or not and then either moving forward with their recommendations, or not.

I don't want to sway anyone's decision, as like I say, it is a very personal decision to participate or not in Mentoring for Free. As for me, I read the book, took action steps towards investigating my policies and procedures and comp plan, participated in some of the mental cleanse program...but, something just didn't set right with me. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it really bothered me for about a month. It bothered me to a point that it was paralyzing me and my business. When I finally figured out what was bothering me, I made a conscious decision to pull back and not participate in Mentoring for Free.

Since that decision, I've gotten back on track, I am sponsoring business partners again, making sales and life is good. I'm sorry for the vagueness of my post, but like I said it is a very personal decision and I don't want to sway a person one way or another.

As I continue to learn how to use the blog to build my business I will share with the group in the form of a lesson so that everyone can benefit and grow their respective businesses each day.

Permalink Reply by Carla J Gardiner on February 17, 2010 at 4:15pm: Absolutely. I, personally, did not care for the approach of co-branding yourself with Michael Dlouhy and how "his" company is the one company that stands up to the 5 pillar test. My question is, "who's opinion" is that, Michael?.

I disagreed with a couple of other statements that he personally made, and in a big way I disagreed. I must give credit to him though for empowering me to research and know what is in my policies and procedures, to learn my comp plan and to know that what I have is awesome. For that empowerment I am eternally grateful and to enable to be ok with thinking for myself, I am grateful. Past that, no thanks.

Thanks for your input, Mike, appreciate your honesty.

I know a lot of marketers who are using WordPress. Most of them host their own blogs (with their own domains) though and don't rely on WordPress.com hosting for various reasons.

I have my own domain pointing to my blogs as well. I use HostGator for my hosting because it lets me host multiple domains for a very reasonable monthly fee.

There are other benefits to using your own domain as well. SEO (search engine optimization) is one of them and probably the biggest reason for me to switch from Blogger to WordPress.

I am currently in the process of changing my free WordPress.com over to hosting my own domain on Go Daddy with a Word Press format. More on that later though.

Thank you for taking part in our discussion and for contributing, as well. You can use Enerjized Life as a venue for blogging. Simply go to My Enerji and choose my blog. Then you can promote your blog page here, the result will be more viewers will visit Enerjized Life, your blog and may become interested in joining the site, too.

You can then post your blog from here to another site like Blogger.com or Wordpress.com, or you can host your own domain with wordpress as your format and be perfectly safe, too. I hope this gives you some direction and hope to regain your blogging enthusiasm.
